What does ‘roast to order’ mean?

Every bag I ship is roasted specifically for the person who ordered it — not pulled off a shelf. I roast in small batches at the end of every week, letting each coffee rest just long enough to reach its peak flavor before it leaves the roastery. It’s slower, yes. But, it’s the kind of slow that makes the coffee worth it.

How long does it take for the coffee to ship?

I roast once a week (usually on Sundays) and ship within 1–3 business days after the coffee is roasted. So, if you ordered on Thursday, I would roast that upcoming Sunday. I ship a few days after the roast to give your coffee time to develop its character and ensures it arrives at your door as fresh — and intentional — as possible.

Are you open to the public?

Not just yet. The roastery is a working space dedicated to small-batch roasting and fulfillment, so we’re not open for retail visits. I’ve been working to make it a cozy neighborhood hangout space for people to come by, have a coffee, and shoot the breeze for a bit. But the Land Rover Coffee Truck brings Zanarkand out into the world — keep an eye on our Instagram or newsletter to see where it rolls next.

Do you offer ground coffee or only whole bean?

I believe coffee is best when it’s freshly ground right before brewing — it’s part of the ritual, part of the magic. But I get it: not everyone has a grinder at home. The main problem is if I grind it one way, and your coffee rig at home isn’t matched for how it was ground, that’s money wasted and you’ll be super disappointed. I don’t want to risk your money on bad coffee. So, I think whole bean is the way to go. Let me know if you’d like some grinder recs!

Where do you source your coffee?

At present, I buy green coffees from both Genuine Origin and Sweet Maria’s. The reality is that I don’t live on the farms observing their day to day operations so I can’t speak to the conditions the workers live and work in. Right now, the best I can do is buy from what I believe to be the most reputable companies that do work directly with the farmers. I would like to get to that point one day where I buy direct and I trust that is in our future.

Can I visit the Land Rover Coffee Truck or attend events?

Absolutely. I’ve been thinking a lot about different locations to pop-up at and maybe even organizing some outdoor excursion events where we head out into nature and enjoy these coffees. When I’m gearing up to do it, I post about it on the Newsletter and on Instagram.

Can I order for my café or become a wholesale partner?

I’d happily collaborate with cafés, hotels, and brands that share our respect for craft and story. If you’d like to bring Zanarkand to your space, reach out to me via e-mail at zanarkandcoffeeroasters@gmail.com.

Why coffee?

Because it’s the best way I know how to communicate to you what I believe in. Let’s chat over coffee, and I’ll tell you the story of why we picked the name Zanarkand, and why I do what I do. Cheers.
